WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Sit back and listen to the world like an animal.
The Listening Chair will be positioned outside of the Arnolfini Gallery, where audiences and passer-bys will be invited sit back in the chair and 'listen' to the environment like an animal. Using a directional mic, computer and headphones; audiences can point the directional mic, in different directions, picking up the surrounding environments frequencies, the computer transposes these frequencies and plays them back to the listeners at the pitch, which other animals (barn owl, bat) hear the world.
