ABOUT
Short concert with members of Bristol all male-choir, as part of Can Altay's installation/presentation series, 'AY AHALI! / Setting a Setting / Letting a Setting Go', at Spike Island Gallery. Altay invited various artists to create works in response to his gallery installation, part of which was an open flat, wooden stage which allowed for events and happenings to emerge during the course of the exhibition.
'It's a Loving Baby' was created in response to this invitation. Working with seven members of the Bristol all male-choir, we sang together three love songs.
Prior to the concert we had a short rehearsal. The songs selected included 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' (Joy Division) as well as two 1950s love song selected from the choirs repertoire.
